Prayer and the Goodness of God (Matthew 7:7–11)

Many Christians do not pray as they ought because they do not understand the goodness of God. If we understand God’s goodness, we will pray more intensely, persistently, and specifically. We will understand that persistent prayer is answered not because we are persistent but because God is good.

Christians often cling to the promises of God in times of great suffering. This provides spiritual strength, vigour, and life as the Holy Spirit ministers to our hearts.
