Fit for a King (Proverbs 31:10–31)
Proverbs 31:10–31—the famed passage about the ideal wife/woman—paints a picture of an honourable, rather than a dishonourable, life. It shows Lady Wisdom in living flesh. But while Proverbs 31 describes the ideal woman, this is not its main thrust. Its main thrust is to highlight the ideal bride of the king—the ideal Bride for the Ideal King: King Jesus. Proverbs 31 helps us to see the kind of people we are to be in order to bring honour to King Jesus.
