CloseBy the time of the Jerusalem siege, the early Christian church was undoubtedly well-informed and well-prepared for the “end times.” They had paid attention to the New Testament writers and had “stayed awake” with the result that they persevered to the end and were preserved. Though we live in a different era, we know that there is a time when “the end” will come for us—either at death or at Christ’s return. What happened in the first century has great relevance to us today for we, too, need to “stay awake.”
