CloseBecause he was devoted to doing the Father’s will, when offered relief, Jesus was compelled by duty and devotion to say, “No.” He refused the drink because embracing hardship was more important than escaping it. In a world that is quick to “take a drink” to escape, Christians must be wise to understand that the better option is often to refuse such offers and rather embrace the pain.
