CloseIn our text, Jesus demonstrates that he is the Son of God. He begins in the very place that should have understood this, which was, sadly, the very place where it was the most neglected: the synagogue, the gathering of those who professed to belong to God. The one place where you would think that his authority would be welcomed was not. In fact, it was demonically rejected. And, as went the synagogue, so went the nation. And, one assumes, so went the home.
