ClosePsalm 64 is meant to instruct and encourage the believing community to look beyond mere circumstances, to have their eyes opened to Yahweh’s hidden, yet inescapable work. The people of God are to govern their lives by transcendent values and ultimate ends. The psalm does not avoid or deny reality; it challenges us to see the wider picture.
