CloseActs 3 marks a new chapter in church history. In the previous chapter, the first new covenant church began and there was much joy, power, prayer, progress, praise and even a degree of popularity. But as we enter chapter 3, much of the popularity begins to wane. If Acts 2 records the honeymoon of the church, then Acts 3 (and the chapters that follow) records life in the real world. We will study this passage by looking at three elements that are vital for us to be a local church that will be empowered to truly help the world; three elements that characterise the people of God who can say with effectiveness, “Rise up and walk.”
