CloseThe marriage between God and His elect can be traced all the way to the garden of Eden. But the new covenant proper was only fully inaugurated at the destruction ofJerusalem. Hence, what we find in Revelation 19 is a figurative description of God’s marriage to the church, in the sense that the new covenant relationship has been fully inaugurated with the destruction of the holy city.
