An Amazing Holiday (Acts 2:22-41)
It was a holiday and one of the most remarkable events in history was about to take place. One hundred and twenty of the Lord’s disciples had gathered together in Jerusalem, probably in a large house near the courtyard of the temple. They had been together for some 10 days and were all focused on the same thing: the Lord Jesus Christ and His command to go into all the world and make disciples of all the nations. But before they commenced with this task, they, in obedience to their Lord, were waiting for the promise of the Father, the blessed Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus had told them that He would send the Holy Spirit, who would abide with them forever. They were to wait for His arrival before they began to disciple the nations. And this is precisely what they were doing as we open our Bibles to Acts 2.
