Sing it Again, Man (Psalm 53:1–6)

Miscellaneous

David once said that he had once been young and was now old but that, in his years, something had never changed: God’s faithfulness to His people. He had never seen the righteous forsaken or God’s people begging for bread. But in addition to this observation of God’s “sameness,” the Psalms contain the record of something else that in David’s life that never changed: the conceit of fools and the general condition of mankind. In fact he wrote about this twice: first in Psalm 14, and again in Psalm 53. As we study Psalm 53, we do so with a view to understanding both theoretical (like Richard Dawkins) and practical (like you and me) atheists.
