Queen Rania of Jordan once said, “Perhaps if we all subscribed to the African concept of Ubuntu—that we all become people through other people, and that we cannot be fully human alone—we could learn a lot. There’d be less hatred and more harmony.” While some aspects of that statement might be true, we see from our text that the harmony Christ intends for believers to experience, and in which Paul commands us to live, can only come from having a mind that has been transformed by God’s grace through salvation and continues to be transformed through sanctification.
