On Good Friday, Christians around the world commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Resurrection Sunday commemorates the historical fact that Jesus did not remain in the tomb. The resurrection is historical fact—and it must be embraced as historical fact, or else the Christian faith is meaningless. That is the burden of the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15. The historicity of the gospel is on trial and, as evidence, he calls three witnesses to the stand.
