As we continue our journey through the closing chapters of Mark’s Gospel, we come to consider the King’s cross. As we do so, we need to be reminded by the Holy Spirit that, apart from God’s grace, we would never see Jesus as King. We need the Spirit to empower us to live as faithful subjects of the King by denying ourselves, taking up our cross, and following him.
