Forgiveness: We all need it. Forgiveness: We all need to grant it. Forgiveness is our greatest need—so why is it so difficult? The passage before us is about forgiveness—God’s forgiveness—and is set in a context of controversy. Jesus’s proclamation of forgiveness stirred controversy because the religious elite did not think that they needed it. But they did need it—and so do we.
