CloseIn the text before us, Jesus tells a story about a sower sowing the word of God and, in the end, receiving a great harvest. His intention was for this story to serve as a mirror into the lives of those who heard it, and for us today as we read and hear it. As Ferguson explains, the point of this parable, and every other parable of Jesus, is to “force us to ask the question, ‘Where do I stand in relation to the kingdom of God?’ They show us our own hearts in the light of God’s word.”
