Christmastime is upon us. For many in South Africa, this means warm weather, an extended break from work or school, time for family, opportunity for catching up on household chores, lots of eating, and, of course, gift-giving. There is nothing wrong with any of those things. However, too often, we miss the point of Christmas, which is a focus on the gospel of Jesus Christ. Without the gospel, there would be no Christmas, and without Christmas, there would be no gospel. The two go hand-in-hand.
