In the story of Bartimaeus, we learn that Jesus Christ has the power to reverse calamity. He has the ability to heal and it is good for us to pray accordingly. But there is something far more important in this text than recovered sight, for this story reveals an exemplary disciple. In this story, therefore, we want to consider the characteristics of an exemplary disciple that we might follow his example as we follow Jesus Christ.
