Brackenhurst Baptist Church will be hosting another round of GriefShare, beginning 3 February 2020.
What is GriefShare?
GriefShare is a thirteen-week, Christ-centred support group seminar for people who have lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend through death. Everyday people who have gone through the grieving process also share their stories of what has helped them deal with the pain of losing a loved one through death.
What does it entail?
We meet once a week for thirteen weeks, for two hours on a Monday night (6:30PM to 8:30 PM). Each GriefShare session includes a video seminar and group discussion, with a small tea break in between. The videos feature top experts on grief recovery, re-enactments about living with grief, and real-life stories of people who have experienced losses like yours. The course includes a workbook, which aids in note-taking, journaling, and grief study.
We meet at the Brackenhurst Baptist Church Sunday school building, which is located on the corner of Hennie Alberts and Chrissie Street, Brackenhurst. (Entrance in Chrissie Street.) We begin Monday, 3 February 2020 at 6:30 PM.
GriefShare is open to anyone who has lost a loved one. Whether the loss was four months ago or twenty years ago, it has proved helpful. Note: While we know pets are loved and sorely missed, GriefShare is specifically a support for the loss of a human life.
We ask that each participant pay R150 for the entire thirteen-week course, which includes their workbook.
