In This Together (Ephesians 6:10–13)

Ephesians Exposition

Paul has been speaking in Ephesians to a community of believers, and he continues to do so as he comes to the end of the epistle. The exhortation to stand and to fight is not an individualistic one, even though each individual member of the church must pay heed to it. Rather, Paul is concerned about the corporate welfare of the church as they face an “evil day.” This should be our concern as well. When we face an “evil day,” we must “be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.” We must then “put on the whole armour of God” and “stand.” And we must do this together. The only way we will win the spiritual warfare is if we wage it together.
